Barbara Michaud 1931-2023\n\nBenton - Heaven gained a beautiful soul on Wednesday, October 18. Barbara Sawtelle Michaud passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the young age of 92. \n\nBarbara was born May 24, 1931, in Winthrop, Massachusetts. Barbara was a graduate of Winslow High School. After high school, Barbara and her sister Polly moved to Boston and enlisted in the WAVES. While in Boston with Polly, she worked at John Hancock. After returning home to Winslow Maine, to be closer to family, Barbara met her loving Husband of sixty-two years, Ronald Michaud. Ron and Barbara had two beautiful children, Janie and Mark, whom she loved more than anything in the world. Barbara worked for many years at Key Bank and Joseph’s sporting goods, where she made friends that she truly cherished. \n\nBarbara was known for her generosity, amazing sense of humor, and incredible fashion sense. Barbara enjoyed comedy movies, being by the ocean, shopping, but most of all she loved her family. Barbara loved her family with every fiber of her being and was the sun that our family revolved around. She will always be held close and dear to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her one life regret was giving up her driver’s license, because she was very proud of how good of a driver she was. \n\nBarbara was preceded in death by her parents Beatrice and Harlan Sawtelle, her sisters Polly White and Peggy Michaud, her brothers Freddie and Patty Sawtelle, her beloved niece Susan White, and her sister-in-law JoAnn Michaud.\n\nBarbara is survived by her husband Ron Michaud, her daughter Janie Pelletier and her husband Clarence Pelletier, her son Mark Michaud and his partner Danielle Roy. Her four grandchildren and their families, Katie and Blake Wilder, Sarah and Graham Meagher, Ryan and Candace Pelletier, and Megan and Ross Vernon. Her five great grandchildren Adaline, Tanner, Carson, Logan, and Jaxon. Her sister Hona Longstaff and her husband Bruce and their son Chris. Her brother David Sawtelle. Dana Michaud and his partner Paula and his children Peter and Trisha Michaud, Harlan and Kim Michaud, and Mary-Margaret Michaud. Her niece Laurie Stewart and her husband Foster, her nephews Scott White, David White and his wife Heather. Her Brother-in-law Carl Michaud and his partner Hannah, and his children Kim and Chuck Lefebve, Doug and Charina Michaud, and Danny Michaud and many great nieces and great nephews.\n\nBarbara’s immediate family would like to extend a special thanks you to the amazing nurses, doctors, social workers, chaplain and CNAs at MaineGeneral Hospice.
