George Dilts

We mourn the loss and celebrate the life of an extraordinary father, devoted husband, lover of music and nature, known as a man with an easy sense of humor. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George C. Dilts, who departed this world on August 6, 2023.

Born in Cortez, Colorado his love of adventure and nature had him travel through Colorado and Alaska, finally choosing Winterport, Maine as a home for his family. George spent his working career in banking as a trusted advisor in both Bangor and Camden. In his retirement he was a beloved community member of Hampden and Belgrade Lakes.

George’s genuine love and care for his family were immense, as he always believed in their happiness and well-being above all else. His three children and six grandchildren will forever carry his legacy of humor, kindness, and unconditional love in their hearts. His quirky sense of humor, love of the outdoors and ability to bring joy to his wife's life made their bond unbreakable. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and adventure, serving as an inspiration to all.

In honor of his memory, a celebration of life will be held on August 12th at 2:00 PM at 7 Lakes Alliance in Belgrade Lakes, Maine. All are welcome to come and share their cherished memories of this singular man who brightened our lives.

Rest in peace, dear George. May your spirit continue to shine brightly in the nature around us and in the hearts of those you left behind.
