Susan Rowe

–

Vassalboro, Maine

Vassalboro - Susan Evelyn Rowe passed away February 9th, 2024, from complications from pancreatic cancer.

Susan was born September 12, 1958, at 5:00 am in Bremerhaven, Germany. When she was old enough to travel at approximately 3 months old, she moved to E. Ruislip, England. Two years later she moved to Maine.

She didn’t want to be remembered for her schooling, workplaces, or clean house(not). She wanted to be remembered for the time she spent with her daughters as assistant girl scout leader, dugout mother, and scorekeeper for their softball teams from t-ball to little league and that their friends were welcome to her home. She wanted to be remembered for raising her daughters to accept people for who they are, for their differences. Susan wanted to be remembered for performing small acts of kindness and paying it forward.

Susan’s husband and daughters will always remember her for her laugh, her love of music, and singing around the house. They will remember her love for animals and her ability to spoil them rotten, especially her dogs. They will remember how she adored books, and how she held a wealth of knowledge regarding many topics.

She is predeceased by her brother Kevin, and those who loved her unconditionally, Oma Freda Oetjen, Uncle Hans Oetjen, and Uncle Andre Bianda. They made her feel like she wasn’t alone in the world.

Susan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Allen Rowe; daughters Laila and Elena; grandsons Izaiah and Camden; siblings and their partners Marie (Bob), Janet (Mark), Karin (Wayne), sister-in-law Kathy, Shawn (Kathleen), Jason (Kelly); Allen’s siblings and their families; relatives in Germany, aunt Rosi Oetjen, cousins Nils, Kirsten, Candi, and their families; many nieces and nephews and their families; and since all humans are related – billions of cousins around the world.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Saint Bridget's Center, 864 Main Street, Vassalboro.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Susan’s name to an animal shelter of your choosing.
